My name is Jonha Scherzer. I've never actually been given an alternative name by any friends, so most people just call me Jonha. My grades generally tend to range between A's and B's and since I'm human, C's are not always excluded. I believe I earned Student of the Month by working hard. I'm trying to ensure I don't have to work hard later on by working very hard early on. I haven't won an award since elementary school, so it feels absolutely amazing to have achieved Student of the Month. It most definitely represents the fruits of my labour thus far. It is quite encouraging to continue working and perhaps work even harder.
My family was quite proud when I told them I'd made Student of the Month. I've already stated that I don't often win awards, so this was new to them as well as it was me.
I'm a very unique individual, I've been told. I observed these claims and I've found this to majorly be due to my gumption to ask questions for myself and my tendency to solely do things independently. In a society full to the brim with docile and unconditionally compliant people content with whatever status quo is shown to them, it is almost considered radical to show signs of self sufficiency and independent inquisition.
To me, personally, the best feature virtual school has to offer is and always will be its individual accountability. I've said this before, but a physical classroom is a universally co-dependent collective with no exceptions. If a teacher is not a good teacher, then not only do the students fail, but the teacher will as well. In virtual school, the information is merely presented in an interactive lesson and it is up to the students as individuals to do with that information what they will. Whatever they do, in the end, it's their choice.
If other students are actively seeking to achieve student of the month, this may very well potentially be their undoing. If you work solely extrinsically, you'll be passing your classes on paper, but the reward is given, as has been clarified by Mr. Albrecht, to those who work for long-term success instead of short term rewards.
I do believe that anyone can be Student of the Month. Anyone has the ability to work hard and keep their heart aimed at success.
Besides Student of the Month, the only awards I've ever actually acquired are admission on the A/B honour roll 6 times throughout elementary school. At that time, I never understood how truly imperative it was for my future to work hard in all my endeavors. Now I understand the necessity of which inside and out.
