Mr. Dave McPeak
I am currently a Social Studies teacher at John Glenn High School. This is my 9th year in the educational field. I have previously taught at H.H. Dow High School and Midland High School. I spent one of my years at H.H. Dow as the E-Learning Facilitator. Throughout my career I have taught a variety of subjects. I have taught Honors US History, World History, Government, Current Events, and one semester of Business Computers.
I believe it is very important to take an active role in the building I teach. Therefore, I am very active in my professional community. I am my building's union representative and a part of the negotiating team. I am also on various district committees including scheduling, technology, and morale. This pat school year I have volunteered to be a part of a 1:1 Chromebooks in the classroom pilot. Athletics is a very important part of my students' lives and a big part of mine. For these reasons I became a football coach. I have held this position for nine seasons, three of them have been as a JV Head Coach. This past year was my first year on the Varsity football staff. I was the running backs and defensive line coach. In addition to football, I am currently in my first season of coaching JV Boys Golf at Glenn.
I am a proud graduate of John Glenn High School, class of 2002. After high school I received my Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education from Central Michigan University in 2006. CMU is where I met my beautiful wife, Vicki, who is also a teacher. We have been married since 2007 and have three beautiful children: Cadence, Charlotte, and Cecilia. In my spare time I enjoy watching movies, reading books, and playing video games. I love all of the Detroit sports teams and I love the University of Michigan. In 2017 I earned my Masters Degree in Online Learning and Instructional Technology from Saginaw Valley State University.
