Mrs. Jennifer Veitengruber
As a new member of the BTVS team, I am looking forward to serving as a social studies teacher of record! I graduated from Saginaw Valley State University in 2007 with a bachelor’s in secondary education (English major, history minor) and will finish my Literacy Specialist Master’s Degree in 2019. For the past nine years, I have taught at John Glenn High School as both an English and history teacher. In addition, I have served as a Student Senate advisor for three different classes and a Project HOPE co-organizer. Classes I have taught include English 9, English 10, English 12, Young Adult Literature, American History, and World History. Aside from teaching, there are many other hobbies and passions I pursue. First and foremost, I enjoy time with my family! My three children, Michael (15), Macey (5), and Mikayla (3), keep me very busy with their sports and extracurricular activities, while my husband Ladd works as a Registered Nurse. As a family, we enjoy camping, hiking, traveling, and outdoor activities. France, Mexico, Jamaica, Quebec, and New York City are some of my favorite places to visit, but our family cabin in the U.P. will always hold a special place in my heart. When I get to enjoy some leisure time, I also enjoy reading, running, hunting, and attending concerts, from country to punk rock! I am excited to work with BTVS students and will do all I can to make the learning process easier!
